FoC 128: Creating Daily Rituals and Making Mental Space with Anne Bogel

Since recording this episode, a lot has happened. But we think this will be a good listen if you want to get your mind off of the pandemic and talk books, rituals, and how to not overthink, well, everything. In fact, some good rituals may be exactly what we all need to help get us through the next few weeks!

Today we’re talking with the brilliant Anne Bogel, the voice behind the popular blog Modern Mrs Darcy and author of three books including her latest: Don’t Overthink It. Anne lives in Louisville, KY with her husband and four kids and creates the What Should I Read Next? podcast. She’s like the Kathleen Kelly of the internet.

In this episode we talk about what it means to be an overthinker (and how many of us are overthinkers without realizing it!). We chat ways to break out of our overthinking cycles, why adulting really does help, and the need for rituals. Rituals make us feel like human beings and there is no time like the present to start creating some rituals in our days–especially when life doesn’t look like it usually does. We also touch on reading rituals which is just perfect because it seems we all just got a little extra reading time handed to us (wish it was under different circumstances).

So enjoy a cozy chat that isn’t about washing your hands, statistics, or quarantines to enjoy during your social distancing!
