These are the kinds of questions we’re touching on in today’s episode with writers, philosophers, and mothers, Carrie Gress and Noelle Mering–two of the authors behind the new design book The Theology of Home: Finding the Eternal in the Everyday. While this book is fit for your coffee table, it’s more than the beautiful photographs that fill it. It addresses the spiritual foundation for loving your family by cultivating home.
In this episode we discuss homemaking in a culture that doesn’t value such efforts and the hunger for home in our society, made obvious by the obsession with home improvement and design shows (or Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia empire). We talk about how loving our homes isn’t only for interior designers or for the wealthy and how making space for hospitality can make our homes a light to the world. Thank you for such a great podcast. .I found you via Freed from Feminism on YouTube and their epsode with Carrie Gress. I googled her name and Voila! I am a boomer and remember well the smoke of feminism floating around my high school and college years and now see how its flame is devouring young women today who don’t remember life without it and what they are told about women and their relationships to their homes is full of lies. Look around at the carnage. I want to be part of the renewal of true feminine gifts to the world. .if there is an army, sign me up. I’ll be listening on Stitcher.
