FoC 045: All TV. All the Time.

episode45

Today we’re back talking tv! After our first tv episode proved to be a popular one we thought it would be the perfect excuse to talk about our new favourite shows together.

We also chat about the binge-watching phenomenon and why we don’t feel too guilty about it as busy moms.  And if binge watching doesn’t make us feel bad, we take it a step further and explore how television has become an art medium that rivals movies and even novels in a big way when it comes to storytelling. We discuss Poldark, the final season of Downton Abbey, and more new shows you may want to check out soon! We hope you enjoy chatting about some great tv, we hope you laugh along with us.

  1. Just started listening and already love you guys! Definitely going to put Poldark on my “to watch” list.

I really enjoyed Mercy Street and highly recommend it, if you can get past Josh Radnor being anyone other than Ted Mosby. Also, Peaky Blinders…would love to hear your thoughts on the Shelby family.

    1. Just started Mercy Street and I’m enjoying it! But I CANNOT get over Josh Radnor as civil war doc. He just seems like Ted Mosby dressed up. And Peaky Blinders!!!!!! We cannot believe that we forgot to talk about Peaky Blinders. It’s THE BEST.

  2. Okay, I am going out on a limb here and say I am the only person in the world with hope for politics, and it is because of The West Wing.

Anytime someone suggests house of cards I say I can’t, because I am a west wing girl. I highly recommend it!!

It is a fun show, with lots of lessons about politics and super quick dialogue. It portrays a good, sense driven politician and even when you disagree with their decisions you can respect how they get there. Sometimes you just want to watch the happy stuff and hope that we can get there!!

  3. Girls. Have you watched or read “Call the midwife”. Guaranteed enjoyment of stories and characters, especially the nuns.

      1. I’ve read all 3 in the series- very poignant. Her sister’s autobiography was v interesting. Jennifer Worth had v sad childhood.
